In the weeks of advent, leading up to the celebration of Christmas, we will take a look at four songs in the Gospel of Luke. Each is sung in response to the cornerstone of God’s glorious plan of salvation being revealed: the birth of Christ Jesus, the God-Man. We will use them to reflect on the gloriousness of the Gospel as we move toward Christmas.
The story of Christmas is so familiar that we often read it on ‘auto pilot’ and don’t notice how incredibly backwards God’s way of working seems to us. In this series we are looking at the story of Christmas in Luke’s gospel and trying to freshen our perspective, rediscovering the meaning and wonder of God’s work in His world.
