We all have expectations when entering a church. Maybe you grew up in a church and that informs your expectations. Maybe you left the church for any number of reasons and are ready to try again, or you've never attended church before. No matter who you are, you have expectations. Here is what to expect at GCC.
Worship Style
We do things together; we don't worship as individuals. We read together, we sing together, and we learn how to apply the saving power of the Gospel together. The sermons are gospel-centered lessons from the Bible with real-world applications.
Music
An eclectic ensemble of talented musicians that lead the congregation in a mix of traditional music that's contextually relevant. It's not a performance; it's a reflection on the glory of our Savior. Join with us as we “Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Tell of his salvation from day to day.” (1 Chronicles 16:23)
For Your Children
As a covenant family of faith, we believe that children belong in worship. We welcome children of all ages to attend and participate in corporate worship by singing, praying, and offering responses as they are able. We do so with the understanding that kids are kids and will move around and make noise. We also recognize that staying through the entire service may be new and challenging for some of the younger ones. With that in mind we offer the following spaces for children and families during Sunday worship service.
Nursery (ages 0-2 years): Professional staff and church members care for and provide a safe and loving environment for children while parents attend the worship service. Our desire is to create a loving and nurturing place for children to play and learn about the love of Jesus.
Children’s Message (ages 3-5 years): During the sermon portion of the worship service our preschool age children are dismissed to Children’s Message which is led by volunteer church members. This provides an opportunity for children to learn the story of the Bible and the love of Jesus in an age appropriate environment. Our curriculum focuses on the stories of the Bible, with Jesus as the hero and main character of every smaller story, and the core teachings of Christianity. The children are welcomed back into the sanctuary at the close of the sermon.
Fellowship Hall (all ages): The Fellowship Hall is available if you need to step out with a child at any time. The service will be on the TV so families can continue to worship with the congregation.
Nursing Mothers Room: A room equipped with rockers and a changing table is provided at the rear of the sanctuary. The service can be heard via speaker in this space.
