VBS THIS WEEK!
VBS 2026 is THIS WEEK! Three days of learning about the miracles of Jesus and how He is Lord over all! We'll have music, skits, Bible lessons, snacks, games, and crafts. We can’t wait to camp out this year!
VBS Missions
This year our missions focus will support the work of New City Memphis at Perea Elementary. We will be collecting Jesus Storybook Bibles to be given to families as well as school uniforms and underwear for the Kindergarten kiddos. Please donate NEW boy or girl underwear size 3T to size 6, boy or girl khaki shorts size 3T to size 6, boy or girl polo shirts (purple, yellow, or white) size 3T to size 6. Donations can be placed at the table in the entry hallway through Sunday, July 26.

Women’s Bible Study Summer Session is Back!
Women’s Summer session of Bible Study is now back in session! We will meet 6:30-7:30. This summer our Women’s Bible Study book will be the ESV Prayer Journal: 30 Days on Wisdom. This is a six week look at what scripture has to say about what it means to be truly wise, how we attain wisdom, and how we apply wisdom to our lives. Each week includes five days of teaching, prayer prompts, and space to journal your thoughts. In the group discussion time, you will share what you’ve learned and thought about. We have groups meeting at different times and places this summer. See the Women's Group in Church Center for more information or talk to Janet Wunrow or Jana Grayson.
Gospel Themes in Tolkien
We are excited to announce three opportunities this summer to meet up and watch through the Lord of the Rings films, with discussion led afterward by Dan Hall. He will be exploring Gospel themes throughout Tolkien's work. These will be held at 10am on June 27th (The Fellowship of the Ring), July 18th (The Two Towers), and August 15th (The Return of the King). Location will be in the church fellowship hall with lunch provided (feel free to bring your own second breakfast). To sign up, please contact phimebook@gmail.com
Bogota Potential Trip Interest Meeting
The Baxley’s would like to share an opportunity to come and serve with them in Bogota. Are you interested in a long weekend missions trips? You'd get to see youth group (high school and middle school), participate in planning and running a Christmas Outreach festival in English, and the chance to get to know our church and team better! Children's Ministry Volunteers Lunch and Training

Children's Ministry volunteers please plan to attend lunch and a time of training on Sunday, August 16 at 11:30 a.m. We will reflect on the work the Lord is doing in and through our ministry and pray, plan, and prepare for the coming ministry year. GCC Choir & Youth Orchestra Is Resuming
We are so excited to have choir and Youth Orchestra starting back up! Choir AND Youth Orchestra BOTH resume August 12th (Choir 7:30-8:30PM)! We will present our anthem on September 13th. You can find the rehearsal calendar on our website.
Hymn Sing is August 30th, 5:30-6:30pm with a dessert social to follow.

Men’s Prayer Meetings
Men’s Prayer Meeting: Monday at 7:00 PM in the GCC Sanctuary - We usually meet the 4th Monday of each month, but for the summer it will be the 3rd Monday of the month. Hope you’ll join us!

GCC Concert Series
Kicking off our first entry in the GCC Concert Series for the upcoming season, Memphis & Nashville recording artist CJ Starnes and his band will be performing in the GCC sanctuary on October 2nd at 7pm. This is a free event thanks to generous donations from sponsors. Please invite your friends - especially folks who otherwise might not consider entering a church - and join us for an exciting evening of original indie/country/folk songs. We are so excited to partner with one of our church-sponsored ministries to help make this event possible (more info TBA), and donations raised from this event will go towards helping to support that ministry. We pray for one another because we are connected in an authentic community of faith. Each day this week, take a moment to pray for some of the people God has planted in our community. Thank God for calling them to be members of our church family. Pray for His help and provision for their needs. Ask Him to encourage and grow them in their faith. If you have an opportunity, take a moment and send them a word of encouragement this week.
