Notice of a Congregational Meeting to Elect a Deacon
TODAY we will hold a brief congregational meeting at 11 AM following worship for the purpose of electing a new deacon. The congregation has nominated, and the session has trained, examined, and approved Pat Tobin to stand for election and serve on the Diaconate. Please join us in praying for Pat and Cindy.
We Need Sound Volunteers!
We need volunteers to help run sound on Sunday’s! For anyone interested, our next training session will be August 23rd, 10am-2pm. Lunch will be provided. Contact Daniel Gafford with questions.
AND Nursery Volunteers!
Ladies, we are working on our nursery volunteer rotation during the worship hour for the fall semester, starting September 7th. Our staff workers change diapers, clean, and keep the schedule, so all you have to do is hold babies and play with toddlers. Please prayerfully consider if this is an area of service for you. Contact Janet Wunrow with your availability.
VBS Missions Focus:
GCC has partnered with New City Memphis, which is pursuing the Kingdom in the Klondike neighborhood of north Memphis, for 3 years through financial support and volunteer opportunities. They are currently working to establish a food pantry at Perea Elementary School to serve families of Perea and the Klondike community. They need help stocking it and are requesting canned items of all types that families can use. If you feel led, please drop off donations at the table in the church hall.
Children's Ministry Volunteers Save the Date!
Plan to join us August 8th-9th (Friday evening and Saturday) for a time of encouragement and training as we live-stream the GROW Virtual Conference offered by the PCA Discipleship Ministries.
We will also have a time of training specific to our GCC Children's Ministry. Childcare is available. Contact Jana Grayson with questions.
Breakfast Potluck
Join us for a breakfast potluck August 17th, immediately following morning worship! Bring a breakfast item to share - casserole, pastries, fruit, etc. Church will provide coffee, juice, and water.
Baby Blessing for the Gross Family
Join us August 24th after service in classroom #4 to celebrate mom-to-be, Kat, and baby. Stop by to offer blessings, advice, and prayers for the Gross family. This is a come and go event.
Please see Jana Grayson or Ginny Gafford for more details.

Pray for One Another
We pray for one another because we are connected in an authentic community of faith. Each day this week, take a moment to pray for some of the people God has planted in our community. Thank God for calling them to be members of our church family. Pray for His help and provision for their needs. Ask Him to encourage and grow them in their faith. If you have an opportunity, take a moment and send them a word of encouragement this week.
