Perea Elementary Bibles and Backpacks Collection

Please buy copies of the Jesus Storybook Bible and/or backpacks to donate to Sam Husband's New City Memphis Ministry in the Klondike Neighborhood for “Preschool Promotion Day” May 20th at Perea Elementary. There will be a box in the main hallway at church to put your items in. Sunday, May 18th is the last day to bring items. Paul Husband will deliver them after church that morning. The backpacks should be simple and small, as they are for Kindergarten age kids. Email Jennifer Monsarrat if you have any questions - jennmonsarrat@gmail.com

Notice of a Congregational Meeting to Elect an Elder

On Sunday, May 11th, we will hold a brief congregational meeting at 11 AM following worship for the purpose of electing a new elder. The congregation has nominated and the session has trained, examined, and approved Daniel Weaver to stand for election and serve on the Session. Please pray for Daniel and the Session as this date approaches.

2 Corinthians Sermon Series: Servants of the New Covenant

This May we will begin a new sermon series from Paul’s second letter to the church at Corinth. Actually, it’s his fourth letter and there’s a complex history of trouble in that church. Praise the Lord for the trouble in Corinth because without it, we would never have this valuable letter from these Servants of the New Covenant.

Communicant’s Class

A “communicant’s class” is a special class designed to help covenant children transition from being, what we call, non-communing members to full communing members of GCC. That means that, not only will they be given all the rights and privileges of full church membership, but they will be admitted participation in the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper by the session. It is, most importantly, the time when our covenant children first make a public profession of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. If you have questions or think your child might be ready to participate in a communicant’s class, please email Ashley at Ashley@GCCMemphis.com.

Coffee Volunteers Needed

Ever wonder where the delicious coffee we all enjoy Sunday morning comes from? This is your chance to find out. The Hospitality Ministry Team needs folks to make coffee! If we have many hands you're only needed 1 to 2 times a quarter. See Hannah Penn and Ginny Gafford for details, training, and questions.

Children’s Message Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to teach the Children’s Message during the sermon. This is the time when we dismiss our 3 year-olds through Pre-K children from our service to read a bible story and do an activity. No prep is needed ahead of time and all the supplies are provided. You just have to be willing to love our little ones in this way. If you have any questions, please contact Karla Himebook. Click the button below to go to the sign-up genius page to volunteer. There are still several open slots.

Weekly Prayer Time at 9AM, Sundays

Pray for One Another

We pray for one another because we are connected in an authentic community of faith. Each day this week, take a moment to pray for some of the people God has planted in our community. Thank God for calling them to be members of our church family. Pray for His help and provision for their needs. Ask Him to encourage and grow them in their faith. If you have an opportunity, take a moment and send them a word of encouragement this week.

  • Wednesday: Jabin and Ann Newhouse (Quinn, Nora, Greta, Zeke)
